Double Cleansing Routine [Clarisonic Mia2]

Coming into 2016, I had a resolution to take my skin care routine more seriously. When I think back to my habits this time last year and my knowledge of my skin in general, I’ve come such a long way. You can bet with a wedding next year, I’ve bumped up my every day skin care routine even more! The last thing I want to worry about through this fun-filled year is a break out or dull skin. I have an entire blog post in a couple months dedicated to my wedding skin care regimen with a break down of what products I’ve been using from overnight treatments, to pore reducing masks, to under eye creams – you name it. I’ve tested so many products over the last year and I’m so excited to share the best of the best with you.

For today, I wanted to share a specific tool that has made such a huge difference in the appearance of my skin – The Mia 2.0 Clarisonic. Keep in mind, I’m going to discuss the trouble areas I personally face and improvements I have seen in my own skin. While I may have a different skin type or complexion issue than you, this device is known to benefit all varying skin types and address many, many different skin issues – for women and men alike.

For years I’ve heard my girlfriends rave about their Clarisonic cleansing brush devices and after I did my research this year, I realized what I was missing out on. MY SKIN TROUBLE AREAS

• Deep Cleaning: I noticed that make up remover alone was just not doing it for me anymore. After thoroughly removing my make up, I’d still see foundation residue on my towel after patting my face dry. I needed to find a way to clean my face more thoroughly.

• Blemishes: While my skin has never been acne prone, every once in a while I’ll experience a blemish. I feel like it’s due to hormones, but I’m willing to bet it also involves not thoroughly cleaning my skin.

Once I received my Clarisonsic, I started double cleansing [more on that below!]. After the changes I’ve seen in my skin, this is something I truly believe every woman should do especially if you wear make up on a daily basis. So what I mean is, I cleanse my skin

HOW I USE MY CLARISONIC

After dampening my skin with warm water, I remove my make up and do my first round of cleansing with this amazing make up remover. My make up literally just melts off. While my pores are still open, I dampen my skin some more and also wet my Clarisonic bristles. The more water, the better to allow your device to slide right on your skin.

Then I go for a second round of cleaning [AKA double cleansing] with my Clarisonic cleansing brush to remove any excess make up, rid any built up oil and remove dry skin. I put a squeeze of this cleanser onto my brush and use the device on the slow setting all over my face and the mid-speed on my nose for a deeper clean.

I do this process once a day before bed. When I pat my face dry on a white towel, there isn’t a trace of foundation plus my skin just feels clean.

  While the Clarisonic device is life changing as far as the skin care game goes, it can’t perform at it’s full potential with crap products. • Double cleanse
  GIRL! Double cleansing is my jam and it needs to be yours. My skin has no trace of make up and just feels so fresh with this new routine.
• Gentle Application
  Your first instinct may be to ‘brush’ your face, but the device really just needs to gently hover on your skin while wet and it’ll do it’s job perfectly – rotating away the dry skin while cleaning up your pores.

HOW TO CARE FOR A CLARISONIC CLEANSING BRUSH

• Air Dry
  Make sure the device is not lying bristles up. The water will just rest on the bristles and device, possibly causing a place for bacteria to grow. I lay mine bristles down onto a towel over night, allowing the water to drip out.
• Maintain the Brush Head
  If you use your device every single day, it’s suggested you replace your Clarisonic brush head every three months. This is something I haven’t had to do yet since I’ve been using my for only a month, but I’ll definitely not push this rule. MY RESULTS

• Overall Skin Health 
  I know this sounds vague, but let me explain. Before this cleansing brush, I was looking for products that would fix my trouble areas -pores, dullness, blemishes. It was reactive instead of proactive. Now after I deep clean my skin each day, I just feel so fresh and I have 100% confidence I’m not leaving any make up our oil build up behind. I’m not skimping on cleaning my skin.. causing a blemish to happen, to just to have to run to Sephora and buy a product to fix the issue that I caused. The issue was that I needed to deep clean. My white towels can back me up on this 😉
• Pore Health
  The pores around my nose are dramatically reduced. I’m not sure what caused the spur of pore enlargement, but obviously the Clarisonic cleaned it right up. This was really my #1 hope from using the device and I’m super happy that this is cleared up!
• Less Dryness, More Softness
  With the daily cleanse and this product, my skin has because much less dry and super soft.
• Skin Tone
  One thing I’m pleasantly surprised about is the decrease in the appearance of my freckles. Don’t get me wrong, I think freckles are cute, but I’d prefer them to only be on my nose. My complexion has less freckles/pigmentation on my cheeks which is nice.
