Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. This was out first official football Sunday of the season so yesterday we enjoyed the Pats game and lotsa food with friends. On Saturday, we organized our home and ran a couple fun errands. We visited Crate and Barrel to grab a few of our wedding gifts and then I somehow talked S into stopping into J.Crew. They have a comfy couch, so that’s a selling point!

While there, I grabbed a bunch of fall staples. I’m not sure if this happens to you, but I feel like I either have horrible shopping days [when I really need clothes, but don’t like anything] or I randomly hit the jackpot and everything looks and fits amazing! Well Saturday was the latter. J.Crew and J.Crew Factory are my absolute favorite retailers for fall. They have great essential knits for layering [these are my all time fav tees], high quality vests and cozy sweaters all in the best New England-esque hues.

While my goal was to stock up on sweaters, I stumbled upon this pair of pants and couldn’t wait to get this blog post live to share them. When I surveyed my Instagram a few weeks ago, I had a large influx of work wear requests for you guys. I’ve heard ya, girls! I work as a marketing campaigns manager M-F and know how hard it is to find office clothes that are appropriate, comfortable, cute and still feel like you. I lean towards dresses in the summer months since there is nothing more easy peasy than throwing on one article of clothing and running out the door. For the other eight months of the year, I love skirts with tights or simple black slacks.

Now black slacks can really suck. 95% of the black slacks I’ve tried are uncomfortable, unflattering, masculine and/or an overall horrible fit. But guess what? You can avoid the frustrations because I’ve found you a pair that fits like a glove, are flattering, high quality and .. COMFORTABLE! So here they are. And here’s why you need ’em.

ONE // THE FIT: The overall fit here is amazing. J.Crew nailed this for a REAL woman’s body because it accentuates curves. The waist to butt to thigh to leg ratios are just so great. The mid rise is appropriate while the waist fits wonderfully and is true to size.
TWO // THE MATERIAL: They have structure around the butt and lift, while the thigh is straight through.
THREE // THE STYLE: I also love the leg opening because it’s not skin tight like a typical “skinny” fit, but it’s not as wide as a straight fit. I lean away from flare work pants because they require heels. Flare’s eat flats. I don’t know about you, but this girl wears flats 99% of the time in the office so I always opt for skinny leg and this pair has me S-O-L-D..
FOUR // THE LENGTH: Alright tall girls. Raise your hand if this ankle trend is your worst nightmare. If you’re over 5’4″, finding denim and pants that look normal is a challenge. While ankle pants are super great for petite girls [no alterations needed for a normal length pant!], for tall girls it poses a challenge. When I try on ankle pants, they looks like a horrible crop rather than chic, trendy ankle trend. Needless to say, these pants nail it. I feel like they are a chic ankle pant for us tall girls and a great normal pant for petite ladies.

I know that they hold have a hefty price tag, so I’ll keep an eye out for any sales and alert you! I have a feeling you’ll be able to snag them at a discount with all the sales headed our way in the coming months. Also, if you’re loving grey turtlenecks as much as me for this fall, here are a bunch of other options to choose from. Thanks so much for reading! Xo Mindy
