Two of my favorite hobbies: sleeping and decluttering. No, but really. Give me a trash bag to declutter and a cat nap soon after and I’ll consider my Sunday afternoon an A+.
One area of our home that I strive to remain clutter free is our bedroom. You wake up and start your day there. You lay your head down and go to sleep there. If you’re starting and ending your day in one space, it should be your calmest, coziest space in the house.
One easy way to make any space calm? Reducing clutter. Being an ultra girly-girl, I have a lot of accessories. Some accessories are lighthearted and cheeky, but many are investment pieces or have a lot of sentimental value. With that, having a designated spot for jewelry is important in order to reduce clutter, but also keep those special pieces in prime shape.
A year ago I had been storing my items in all different ways. Ring dishes, carousels, on top of my bureau, on my night stand, on the bathroom counter, ha!
I wanted to find a way to store my jewelry together in a safe, organized way that also decluttered our bedroom counter space. That’s when I stumbled on acrylic organizers! But the price tag was anything but exciting. Most acrylic organizers are $250+ for one unit. That’s just way too much in my opinion, especially since I needed one for accessories and one for make up. I myself wouldn’t spend that, but I think S would pass out if I told him I just casually spent $500 on pieces of plastic.
I searched high and low for weeks until I finally came across the perfect, budget-friendly acrylic jewelry organizer! Since I share them frequently on Instagram and always get questions on where they are from, I wanted to dedicate a blog post to them and also share my favorite brands to get jewels from.
To build my acrylic jewelry organizer, I layered three wide Medium Lux Drawer Boxes and one wide Medium Luxe Hinged-Lud Box. You’ll only see a total of three layers in today’s post because I just recently grabbed a new layer at the store. That’s what’s so awesome about this organizer! You can add on as your collection grows. There are also drawers that have 4-section and 12-section separators which would be great for earrings or bracelets.
The most common thing I hear girls say in regards to acrylics organizers, is that they can’t find a budget-friendly version that doesn’t break or get worn down. I’ve owned mine for a year. I’ve dropped them, moved to a new apartment and don’t have scratches or any damage. For preventive measures, I use the ‘Plastic Clean and Shine’ spray once a month to clean and refresh both my organizers.
I hope this helps you in decluttering your bedroom and keeping your accessories in prime shape! If you’re needing to stock up on accessories, last week I rounded up 20 statement earrings you need this spring. I’ve linked up a bunch below too. Xo Mindy
