Yep – a pretty little church outfit. If you follow along on SnapChat [ID:m1nlyn], you’ve seen that over the last few months S and I have been regularly attending church. Once we got engaged, we reflected on how we each pictured our wedding day, raising children and overall life! I know that sounds like a bit much all at once, but I’m a planner and I only like doing things at 100%. My dad raised me to never take on anything to just do it half… well you know 😉 .

Basically, if we’re going to get married in a church and go through all the required preparation, I want to understand what it means to us as a couple and our marriage. Then with that, what will this mean for our children so we are always on the same page together. S really only had one opinion through our wedding planning process so far and it’s to get married in a Roman Catholic church. I don’t have a structured religious foundation in my life, so exploring this with him has been fun – especially the FOCCUS assessment. Even after almost nine years, you can still learn something new about your significant other and this really highlighted our strengths, showed how deep we really know one another and also showed a couple topics we need to discuss prior to marriage. Anyways – this has been a fun Sunday routine [and I mean – we get breakfast after for #WinWin ;-)].

So the purpose of this post isn’t to bring on a heavy religious discussion [trust me I’m still learning!], but simply to chat about what to wear to church. I understand that this hour on Sunday is meant for much more than what shoes you’re wearing, but I always say that when you feel your very best, you perform your very best. And let’s be honest – light wash jeans and a tee won’t suffice so this girl needed to find a few more church appropriate items to add to her closet and yes – it’s been so fun!
When I saw this beautiful lace blouse[under $50!], I knew it’d be perfect for work, weekend and church alike. Versatility is key! I’m always drawn to pieces that have a high neck, lace detail. It’s just so elegant and timeless. I love it paired with these dark wash skinnies [currently 40% off], but honestly for church I usually stick with black skinny jeans.
If you want to be extra comfy, I suggest stocking up on skirts and dresses that have black details in them. Why black? Because they pair seamlessly with tights and flats. I just ordered this dress and this skirt since they are such classics and 40% off right now.
Once we started attending regularly, I knew investing in these classic flats and a sleek black handbag would save me such a headache in the morning. Both the pieces I’m wearing are an extra are 30% today with code THANKS. Sometimes we shoot for the 7AM mass, so no one has time to fiddle with shoes to handbags that early. Plus, I wear them both almost every day for work. Versatility is key!
As you may have caught on, Tory Burch has kicked off her Black Friday sale EARLY! I linked up a bunch of cute hand bags below. Xoxo Mindy

I have this top and I agree with it being the perfect thing to wear to church! My dad raised me saying the exact same thing haha! So funny.

Since we’ve been engaged, I’ve had the same religious thoughts but have really not been on top of making it there regularly. 🙁 Hoping that changes as things settle down a bit after the holidays!

Oh my gosh! I feel like I haven’t met anyone my age that was also married Catholic! It’s been a fun experience. We’re getting married September, 9 2017. I’m so excited!! Foccus has been such a great learning tool and I’m left confused as to what other people use to prep haha!

Congrats on your recent marriage. Such a fun-filled time! Xoxo Mindy
